Literacy Volunteers Serving Adults

Literacy Volunteers Serving Adults (LVSA) provides free tutoring for Delawareans who want to learn to read and write, or learn basic English language skills. Volunteers are trained to teach language skills to individuals and small groups. The Arsht-Cannon Fund supports the Parents Learning English at School (PLEAS) program, which provides language instruction to parents while their children attend at two Wilmington Head Start locations. Parents successful in acquiring basic language skills are able to find employment and better support their children as they progress in school.
